Because I love the Creation — wide open skies, water and creatures, the play of light — and have a kinesthetic need to explore their intricacy and beauty, I have drawn and painted since early childhood. Exploring the essence of what I see and experience is fundamentally important to me. It also provides a way to share and celebrate with others what moves me deeply.

Description

Flying over San Francisco Bay from the south, I was always captivated by the wonderfully colorful salt flats, their patterns shaped by algae, bacteria, minerals, and the tides. For years I sketched them from the air, and one day at home I brought those studies together into this sequence — my closest‑to‑abstract painting.
