The craftsman’s work is vital to our culture. It maintains a connection to the skills and folkways of the past. My ultimate goal as a craftsman is to make an object that is useful but will also have a meaning, tell a story or become part of your family’s stories. The uniqueness and spirit of the object comes not from the cleverness of the form or design but from the heart of the craftsman. Throughout my career I have worked with and been influenced by many fine craftsmen in North Carolina and beyond. I hope that my work reflects this tradition and the spirit of all these people.
