Alec
Celis

I started making art in my journal in 2020, and to hide the lines on the pages, I’d fill up the entire space with doodles. My artwork is not intentional on purpose. Because of the initial parameter of hiding the lines in my journal, I often make art using the concept of horror vacui which means “fear of empty space”.

Nowadays, I like to spend time at parks, coffee shops, and art museums covering pages with doodles inspired by each place. Each piece reflects what is going on in my head and the world around me during the period of their creation. Like visual journal entries.
