“King” is a mixed media work that blends abstract and expressionist elements with a bold, textured approach. Created on two wooden panels, the piece is built using sheetrock mud to sculpt a dimensional surface, then layered with acrylics, oil paint, and gold leaf. The palette is inspired by the jungle, incorporating vibrant Rasta colors and deep blacks to evoke a mystical atmosphere. Finished with a glossy black surface, ‘King’ captures the spirit of an old, wise lion. The materials are not reclaimed or organic, but the layered technique and handmade texture create an earthy, almost primal feel.
