Description
Original design, hand formed clay, hand carved, with lid. Each piece is fired twice. The second firing is Raku fired. I coat the piece with my original glaze which contains copper. I fire one piece at a time, remove it from the kiln at 1900 degrees and place it in metal trash can lined with news paper. The paper catches on fire and burns up the piece. This creates all the colors on each piece. I put the lid on the trash can, this put the fire out and stops the process. Each piece captures that moment in time in the fire.
