My artworks are often inspired and expressed as a reaction, response to the tragedy I see, I hear, I feel. The grief of the country weighs on me and leads me to tell a story, to create what I cannot explain with words, to make others see the moment, the pain, the shock that is there.

Making art is a great salvation. When I create, the noise of negativity is stopped and I can focus on color or pattern to be an abstract painting – sometimes a caricature or a disturbing scene – or assemblage of items.
