Celia Bucek
Although I have over a decade of experience, I consider myself an emerging artist because I am continually evolving my style and seeking new ways to express my vision. I work primarily as a painter using acrylics and pastels to create works inspired by water, animals, the cosmos and nature. I am drawn to movement and strive to incorporate motion and feeling into my paintings. Each time I explore a new medium I embrace it wholeheartedly and have found that pastels are a strength and I enjoy creating animal portraitures in that medium. Though I did not formally train in visual arts at a university or professional art school, I was delightfully surprised to realize that I had artistic ability. Although I make art for myself, I am fortunate that others find value in my artistic efforts. I am also a fiber artist and weave rag rugs and other textiles.
