Tatyana
Dyakonov
Tatyana was born in Moscow, Russia. Her interest in drawing and painting began in early childhood. She attended art studios in Moscow and after moving to United States in 1993 she has been exhibited at juried shows and invitational exhibitions. Her husband, Alexander, had a dream of having a house in the mountains and after looking far and wide found “charming West Jefferson” and had a house built on Little Phoenix Mountain.
In North Carolina Tatyana studied art with the renowned artist Jane Filer, who inspired her to explore the vibrant world
of fantasy. Tatyana is fascinated by historical architecture and likes to compose paintings from imagination. For example, one of her paintings,Snowy Street depicts a city in the beginning of the 19th century
reconstructed from the old photograph. Not having people on the streets in most of her urban paintings “makes me think that I own the place”.
Tatyana not only paints fantastical architectural scenes, like the one of West Jefferson, she is also a master of still life and performing figures.
