The bases for my work come from discarded items such as windowpanes, wine bottles, pie plates, mirrors. I’ll use anything sturdy enough to support the abstract or formal shapes laid on top of them. Although my preferred medium is glass, I have a number of pieces that involve wood or ceramic. I work off common totemic shapes such as hearts, circles, or leaves and draw inspiration from natural elements including animals, insects, and trees.
Art is a form of therapy for me and I hope to delight, surprise, and inspire others to see the world in refreshing ways.
What began as a project to help me process heartbreak has become a daily practice that reflects the gratitude and joy I feel as an independent and accomplished woman.
My art reflects my roots in academia as a lifelong instructor and learner. Since my younger son came out as a gay trans man five years ago, I have also started creating pieces that reflect the colors and spirit of the LGBTQ+ community.
