Irish-born sculptor Paul Nixon creates emotionally resonant works in bronze, wood, cement and resin that bridge the natural and divine. Raised in Clondalkin, Ireland, and influenced by his grandmother's spiritual connection to nature, Nixon immigrated to America, eventually settling in North Carolina.
A self-taught artist who discovered his calling later in life, he builds deeply empathetic public installations across the Greensboro region.Nixon's remarkably varied portfolio spans detailed Celtic folklore woodcarvings to grand civic monuments. Notable public works include the moving firefighter memorial at Greensboro' Fire Station 1, the majestic bronze winged lion at Grandover Resort, and a comforting terrier sculpture at the Hospice of Greensboro. Infused with a sense of providence and universal human experience, Nixon's sculptures act as emotional anchors. His art invites viewers to pause, step into the unknown with trust, and engage deeply with the hidden forces shaping our lives.
